Ras Al Khaimah expects 80% hotel occupancy over Eid Al Adha holiday

Ras Al Khaimah Tourism Development Authority has revealed that hotel occupancy rates are forecast to exceed 80 percent for the Eid A Adha holiday.

Tourism bosses said they expect the holiday period to build on the 14 percent increase in international visitors seen in the emirate during the first half of 2018.

Haitham Mattar, CEO of Ras Al Khaimah Tourism Development Authority said: “We expect to continue seeing a rise in the occupancy rates of the emirate’s hotels during this long weekend, especially for those looking for exceptional value for money hotel stays, luxury indulgence, as well as experiential adventure attractions such as horse-riding and archery in the Wadi desert.

“The world’s longest zipline, Jebel Jais Flight, is an all year round attraction on the UAE’s highest mountain which is ten degrees cooler than sea level. We have noted increased bookings each weekend throughout summer, and the zipline was booked at full capacity over the Eid El Fitr public holiday – attracting 250 pilots each day over the Eid weekend.

"We are already receiving a similar number of bookings during the Eid al Adha holiday and we predict we will be hosting up to 250 people per day during the Eid break,” he added.

Ras Al Khaimah is positioning itself as the UAE's centre for nature based activities and adrenaline packed adventures, including the world’s longest zipline, desert safaris, and sunset horseback riding in a protected desert wildlife area.
