Qatar’s oil prices fall in August

Mubasher: Qatar’s offshore and onshore crude oil prices witnessed a drop by 0.8% and 1.7%, respectively, in August.

The price of onshore crude oil declined 1.7% to $74 per barrel (pb) in August, compared to $75.25 in July, Qatar Petroleum said on Tuesday.

The state-owned company added that the offshore crude oil price retreated 0.8% to $72.9 pb last month versus $73.55 pb a month earlier.

The Organization of Petroleum Exporting Countries’ (OPEC) recent data showed that the GCC nation’s oil output rose to 616,000 barrel per day (bpd) in August, compared to 612,000 bpd in July.
