Qatar’s inflation grows 0.6% in August – MDPS

Mubasher: Qatar’s consumer price index (CPI) grew 0.6% year-on-year and 0.04% month-on-month in August, recording 108.95 points.

The prices of a group of seven segments increased last month, compared to July, topped by the transportation, which rose 8.40%, followed by the health sector by 4.27%, according to a report released by the Ministry of Development Planning and Statistics (MDPS) on Monday.

Meanwhile, the prices of four segments witnessed a drop headed by the telecommunications, which plunged 11.86%, followed by the housing, water, gas and other fuels by 3.27%.

Over the course of the month, the prices of clothes and footwear rose 1.07%, while food and beverages levelled up 0.28%, while the prices of housing, water, gas and other fuels decreased by 0.71%.

On the other hand, four segments kept unchanged.
