Mubasher: Deposits at banks operating in Qatar witnessed a 5.3%year-on-year increase in July, according to Qatar Central Bank’s (QCB) recent report.
Total deposits amounted to QAR 813.5 billion ($223.5 billion) in July, compared to QAR 772.5 billion ($212.2 billion) in July 2017.
On a monthly basis, lenders’ deposits declined 0.6% last month, compared to QAR 818.3 billion in June.
Qatar’s private sector deposits levelled up 7.2% to QAR 380.3 billion in July, against QAR 354.9 billion a month earlier, while deposits of non-financial institutions in the gas-rich nation grew to QAR 26.6 billion, compared to QAR 25.8 billion.
