Mubasher: Qatar’s annual per-capita income is expected to witness a 7.2% year-on-year growth during the full-year 2018, Qatar National Bank (QNB) said in a recent statement.
The average annual income per person is projected to reach $134,000 in 2018 instead of $125,000 in 2017.
Moreover, the gas-rich country’s gross domestic product (GDP) is forecast to grow by 2.6% over the current year as the drag from the hydrocarbon sector abates and the booming construction sector drives non-hydrocarbon growth.
“Government policies to promote private-sector development are also lifting domestic demand. We target non-hydrocarbon GDP growth of 5% in 2018, rising to 5.3% in 2019,” the statement highlighted.
