Mubasher: Qatar’s holdings of US government debt witnessed a 5.2% year-on-year drop in September.
The Qatari long-term holdings amounted to $1.27 billion in September, from $1.34 billion a month earlier, according to the US Treasury Department’s data.
Saudi holdings of US government bonds hit $176.1 billion by the end of September, while the UAE and Kuwait’s holdings reached to $60 billion and $43.8 billion, respectively.
Globally, China is the top holder of US Treasuries with $1.15 trillion, followed by Japan with $1.2 trillion.
