Qatar posts $1.3bn trade surplus with Japan in March

Mubasher: Qatar's trade balance surplus with Japan surged 11.2% year-on-year in March 2018.

The trade balance surplus between the two nations amounted to JPY 141.28 billion ($1.31 billion) in the third month of 2018, according to the Japanese Finance Ministry's monthly bulletin on Wednesday.

Exports of Qatar, the world’s biggest liquefied natural gas (LNG) exporter, to the Asian nation jumped 13.1% to JPY 158.54 billion ($1.47 billion) in March, the official data showed.

While the GCC country's total imports from Japan levelled up 31.1% to JPY 17.26 billion ($16.0.5 million) during the previous month.
