Qatar inks 8 military deals at Dimdex 2018

Mubasher: The Qatari Armed Forces have signed around 8 military agreements on the sidelines of the Doha International Maritime Defence Exhibition and Conference (DIMDEX 2018), which began on Monday 12 March in the Qatari capital.

The exhibition marked the signing of about 18 agreements in two days.

Qatar’s Special Forces inked four agreements that entail the establishment of a naval base and training centre in the northern region of the country. No further information on the value of the deal is available.

Moreover, the world's richest country per capita inked an agreement with Turkish company Anatolia to buy 556 armored vehicles to be delivered within a year.

Another agreement was signed with Turkish company MDS to establish the naval base "Borouge" for special operations in the North Sea.

On the other hand, Barzan Holdings, responsible for empowering the military capabilities of the national armed force in Qatar, signed 10 deals with international companies in an effort to enhance Qatar’s military position.
