Mubasher: Qatar Petroleum (QP) is looking to invest at least $20 billion in the US in the coming few years, Qatar Energy Minister Saad Al Kaabi said on Sunday.
He added that QP, the state-owned petroleum company, aimed to announce its foreign partners for its new liquefied natural gas (LNG) trains, which are under construction, by the middle of next year.
Al Kaabi noted that the company could handle the project alone, with no international oil company at its side, if no good offers were made.
“Mark my words, if I don't get a good deal, we go alone,” Al Kaabi commented.
It is worth noting that Qatar intends to leave the Organisation of the Petroleum Exporting Countries (OPEC) in January 2019.
