Mubasher: The Qatari transport and communications ministry announced the launch of new shipping line between Qatar and the Iraqi port of Umm Qasr.
The new line will be opened by the beginning of May 2018.
The step enhances the cooperation between the two Arab countries in the transportation field.
Qatar, the world's top exporter of liquefied natural gas, started searching for other commercial alternatives, in addition to opening new transportation lines after its political dispute.
Since 5 June 2017, Qatar has been facing outflows of foreign customers' deposits after four Arab countries led by Saudi Arabia cut their diplomatic ties with the gas-rich state, accusing Qatar of financing terrorism.
