QSE starts Tuesday in red

Mubasher: The Qatar Stock Exchange (QSE) started Tuesday’s trading session in the negative territory, dragged by five sectors.

By 10:10 am Qatar time, the general index declined 0.40% to 9,792.99 points, losing 39.69 points.

Turnover amounted to QAR 21.26 million after 636,470 shares were traded through 458 transactions.

The banking sector topped the QSE’s losers falling 0.41% on the back of the Commercial Bank of Qatar’s (CBQ) 2.31% drop.

Similarly, the industrial sector inched down 0.03% as Mesaieed Petrochemical Holding and Qatari Investors Group lost 0.99% and 0.03%, respectively.

Meanwhile, the real estate sector headed the bourse’s two gainers adding 0.20% as Ezdan Holding Group and United Development Company rose 0.30% and 0.28%, respectively.

The insurance sector inched up 0.09% on Qatar Insurance’s 0.14% growth.

Qatar Islamic Bank’s (QIBK) stock, which fell 1.42%, led the QSE in terms of turnover with QAR 4.22 million, while Vodafone Qatar’s stock, which decreased 1.03%, spearheaded the market in terms of trading volume with 241,330 shares.
