QSE slides 25 pts at Thursday’s close

Mubasher: The Qatar Stock Exchange’s (QSE) benchmark index closed Thursday 0.31%, or 24.51 points, lower, reaching 7,773.59 points.

The market capitalisation value of stocks inched down 0.6% to QAR 425.6 billion, from QAR 428.3 billion.

The QSE’s trading volume reached 9.01 million shares on Thursday, against 9.26 million shares on Wednesday, while liquidity decreased to QAR 180.01 million, from QAR 181.5 million.

The real estate sector fell 4.46% as Ezdan Holding Group, and Mazaya Qatar Real Estate Development stocks’ tumbled 7.81%, and 1.55%, respectively.

The industrials sector edged down 0.97% after Aamal Co’s stock declined 3.21%.

On the other hand, the consumer goods and services sector increased 0.43% as Widam Food Company’s stock levelled up 4.59%, and Qatar Fuel’s (Woqod) stock went up 1.16%. 

Ahli Bank Qatar’s stock retreated 9.66%, whereas Qatar Islamic Insurance’s stock jumped 10%.

Mesaieed Petrochemical Holding’s stock, up 0.68%, led in terms of trading volume after 1.60 million shares were exchanged, while Qatar National Bank’s (QNB) stock, which added 0.51%, topped in terms of trading value, with a turnover of QAR 19.97 million.
