QSE sheds 38 pts at Monday’s close

Mubasher: The Qatar Stock Exchange’s (QSE) general index fell 38.09 points, or 0.35%, to close at 10,722.14 on Monday.

The QSE’s liquidity grew to QAR 253.02 million on Monday from QAR 169.03 million in the previous session, while trading volume retreated to 7.65 million shares, against 7.81 million on Sunday.

The goods sector headed fallers with 0.89% after Zad Holding slid 1.58%.

Meanwhile, the industrials sector declined 0.75% after Qatar National Cement shed 1.78%.

On the other hand, the real estate sector soared 0.71%, supported by the growth of Ezdan Holding and Barwa Real Estate which added 1.08% and 0.13%, respectively.

The banking sector rose 0.01%, led by Qatar Oman Investment which grew 6.56%.

The heavyweight Qatar National Bank’s (QNB) stock, up 0.02%, topped the QSE in terms of turnover with QAR 46.4 million, while Al Khalij Commercial Bank’s stock, down 1.75%, posted the highest trading volume with 1.1 million shares.

Al Khalij Commercial Bank on Sunday announced a 10.51% growth to QAR 608.40 million in profits for the full year 2018, against QAR 550.52 million in 2017.
