QSE opens week down on banking, goods stocks

Mubasher: Qatar Stock Exchange (QSE) started Sunday’s trading session down, pressured by the drop of the goods and banking sectors.

By 10:10 am Qatar time, the main index fell 0.13 %, or 11.82 points, to 9,188.28 points.

QSE’s turnover amounted to QAR 54.6 million after 4.8 million shares were traded through 831 transactions.

The goods and services sector shed 0.45% as Qatar Medicare Group lost 1%.

The banking sector edged down 0.39% after Qatar National Bank (QNB) tumbled 0.65%%, shrugging off Qatar First Bank’s 2.56% increase.

Meanwhile, the real estate sector topped the bourse five gainers adding 0.02% after Mazaya Qatar Real Estate Development added 0.85%.

Qatar First Bank's stock was the most active in terms of value and volume, generating QAR 17.6 million after 2.4 million shares changed hands.
