Mubasher: The Qatar Stock Exchange (QSE) started Wednesday’s trading session in the negative territory, dragged by the drop of six sectors.
By 10:15 am Qatar time, the general index inched down 0.15% to 9,808.55, losing 14.98 points.
The goods and services sector topped the QSE’s decliners falling 0.32% on the back of Qatar Fuel’s (Woqod) 0.66% drop.
Similarly, the industrial sector decreased 0.29% as Gulf International Company plunged 0.98%, while the banking sector inched down 0.10% due to Qatar International Islamic Bank’s (QIIB) 1.58% fall.
Meanwhile, the insurance sector was the bourse’s only gainer adding 1.49% after Qatar Insurance and Qatar Islamic Insurance grew 2.15% and 0.97%, respectively.
The Commercial Bank of Qatar’s (CBQ) stock, which retreated 1.27%, led the QSE in terms of trading volume with 284,940 shares, generating QAR 11.14 million in liquidity.
