QSE opens Thursday in red

Mubasher: The Qatar Stock Exchange (QSE) started Thursday’s trading session on a negative , dragged by the drop of four sectors.

By 10:00 am Qatar time, the general inched down 0.03% to 9,445.14 points, losing 1.70 points.

Turnover amounted to QAR 13.72 million after 801,650 million shares traded through 297 transactions.

The real estate sector topped the QSE’s decliners falling 0.82%, pressured by United Development Company’s 1.35% drop.

Similarly, the industrial sector went down 0.32% as Qatar Electricity and Water Company (QEWS) retreated 0.9%.

On the other hand, the banking sector headed the bourse’s gainers adding 0.17%, boosted by Qatar Oman Investment’s 3.21% increase.

Qatar First Bank’s (QFB) stock, which declined 0.37%, led the QSE in terms of trading volume with 241,760 shares, while Qatar Gas Transport’s (Nakilat) stock, which grew 0.96%, topped the market in terms of liquidity with QAR 2.89 million.
