Mubasher: The Qatar Stock Exchange (QSE) closed Sunday’s trading session in the green after its main index surged 40.36 points, or 0.39%, to 10,496.5 points, recording its highest level in 20 months.
The consumer goods and services sector was the best performer with 1.17%, while the transportation and real estate sectors led losers with 0.38%, and 2.19%, respectively.
The bourse’s liquidity soared 115.8% to QAR 486.46 million, from QAR 225.4 million on Thursday, while traded volume skyrocketed 342.9%, to 29.46 million shares, compared to 6.72 million.
Qatar Aluminums Manufacturing Company’s (QAMCO) stock, which leaped 30.1% to QAR 13.01 in its debut, led the market in terms of trading volume and value after 23.21 million shares were exchanged, at a liquidity of QAR 319 million.
