QSE gains 43 pts at close

Doha – Mubasher: The main index of Qatar Stock Exchange (QSE) ended Monday’s session with a rise of 0.45% or 43.28 points to the level of 9,681.54 points, ending a three-day losing streak.

Turnover increased to QAR 178.44 million from QAR 136.29 million on Sunday.

Trading volume also rose to 4.87 million shares from 4.2 million exchanged yesterday.

The real estate sector gained 0.92% as Barwa advanced 2.3%.

The banking sector also grew by 0.52% thanks to the rise in Doha Bank and Commercial Bank of Qatar by 1.86% and 0.82% respectively.

Meanwhile, gains were trimmed by a 0.57% fall in the telecom sector as Ooredoo declined 0.83%. the stock made the highest liquidity of QAR 17.55 million.

The index closed yesterday with a fall of 1.8% or 175 points to the level of 9,638.26 points.
