QSE extends losing streak for 3rd straight session Tuesday

Mubasher: The Qatar Stock Exchange’s (QSE) general index declined 34.86 points, or 0.33%, to close at 10,687.28 points on Tuesday.

The QSE’s liquidity fell 12% to QAR 222.73 million on Tuesday, from QAR 253.02 million in the previous session, while trading volume rose 4.2% to 7.97 million shares, against 7.65 million on Monday.

The industrials sector led fallers with 0.39%, pressured by the 1.71% drop of Investment Holding.

Meanwhile, the banking sector edged down 0.15% after Masraf Al Rayan tumbled 1.41%.

Masraf Al Rayan posted a 4.9% growth in profits, registering QAR 2.13 billion in 2018, against QAR 2.03 billion during 2017 and recommended the distribution of QAR 2 cash dividends, representing 20% of its capital.

On the other hand, the insurance sector rose 0.80%, supported by the 10% growth of Al Khaleej Takaful Insurance, while Qatar Islamic Insurance headed decliners with 3.32%.

Qatar Aluminium Manufacturing’s (QAMCO) stock, up 0.32%, registered the highest trading volume of 1.59 million shares, while the heavyweight Qatar National Bank’s (QNB) stock, which remained unchanged at QAR 198, topped the QSE in terms of turnover with QAR 49.2 million.
