QSE adds 59 pts early Thursday

Mubasher: The Qatar Stock Exchange (QSE) started Thursday’s trading higher, backed by the growth of six sectors.

By 10:00 am Qatar time, the general index grew 59.18 points, or 0.65%, to 9,114.20 points.

the bourse's turnover amounted to QAR 70.9 million after 3.4 million shares changed hands through 668 transactions.

The banking sector topped the QSE’s risers adding 1.75%, boosted by Qatar National Bank (QNB) which surged 3.97%.

Similarly, the transportation sector grew 0.99% after Qatar Navigation and Qatar Gas Transport went up 2.46% and 1.23%, respectively.

Meanwhile, the goods and services sector was the bourse’s only decliner losing 0.13%, pressured by Qatar Fuel’s (Woqod) 0.41% drop.

Vodafone Qatar’s stock, which advanced 1.30%, led the market in terms of trading volume with 2.4 million shares, while QNB’s stock headed the bourse in terms of liquidity with QAR 32.4 million.
