Mubasher: The Qatar Exchange (QE) rose for the third consecutive month, supported by the gains of five market sectors.
The main index gained 0.62% ot 61.34 points, as it closed the last trading session of August at the level of 9,886.45 points.
Market capital increased by 1.19% to QAR 546.3 billion, compared with QAR 539.9 billion by the end of July.
As for the stocks’ performance, August saw the rise of 17 stocks led by Ezdan that added 14.4%, while 23 stocks ended the month in the red zone with Al Khaleej Takaful Insurance dropping 8.8%, while five stocks remained unchanged.
Real estate led the rising sectors with 7.5% gains, followed by telecom and transportation with 2.4%, and 1.4%, respectively.
Traded values decreased by 28.9% to QAR 3.19 billion, while traded volumes went down by 35.89% to 106.43 million shares.
Transactions totalled 59,200 compared with around 70,480 in the previous month.
