QE maintains upward trend, rises 1.08%


Doha-Mubasher: Qatar Exchange (QE) rose for the third session in row on Tuesday, breaking the 11,700-point level.
QE index rose 1.08% or 124.57 points to reach 11,711.40 points, rising to its highest levels since 16 March. 
Al Rayan Islamic index gained 0.65% to 4,276.43 points, whereas QE All Share index rose 0.92% to 3,133.6 points.
The industrials sector was the biggest riser by 1.97% as Gulf International Services, Industries Qatar and Qatar Electricity and Water Co jumped 4.92%, 2.96% and 2.84% respectively.
The telecoms sector tailed the gainers list by 0.06%, backed by Vodafone Qatar which leveled up 0.73%. However, Ooredoo retreated by 0.19%.
Commercial Bank of Qatar topped risers by 2.48%, meanwhile Gulf International Services led gainers by 4.92%.
Trading volume reached around 10.3 million shares, at a turnover of about QAR 564.85 million, traded through 5927 transactions by 30 companies, of which 24 gained, one dropped and five remained unchanged.
Vodafone Qatar was the most active company with a trading volume reaching 1.8 million shares at QAR 32.06 million. 
Meanwhile, Gulf International was the value leader, upon generating QAR 82.3 million through trading 885,180 shares.
