QE down 2.6% in week, Market cap loses 2%

Mubasher: The Qatar Exchange (QE) ended the third week of September in losses, as the general index declined by 2.55% or 255.63 points and closed on Thursday at the level of 9,766.33 points.

Market capital fell by 1.91% or QAR 10.59 billion to end the week at QAR 543.3 billion.

The main index was dragged by the losses of nearly all the market sectors, led by telecom that dropped 3.29%, banks and financial services with 2.8%, while only insurance and commercial services added 4.43% and 0.84%, respectively.

The industrial sector is down 1.91% for the week, transportation and real estate also lost 0.55% and 0.43%, respectively.

On the other hand, Doha Insurance led the declining stocks, as it plummeted by 6.41%.

In total 31 stocks ended the week in the red zone, while 13 were able to record gains led by Gulf International that rose by 5.36%.

Turnovers decreased by 2.08% to QAR 539.5 million, while traded volumes decreased by 13% to 14.29 million shares.
