QSE marks gains for 3rd week in row

Mubasher: The Qatar Exchange (QE) rose for the third consecutive week, supported by the increasing foreign investments, which led to another surge in market capital.

The main index gained 3.12% or 278.14 points, and ended the week at the level of 9,196.62 points.

A survey by Mubasher showed an increase if profits for listed companies by 14.7% year-on-year to a total QAR 5.99 billion.

As for the market sector performance, six sectors ended the week in green, led by real estate with 10.66%, followed by banks and insurance with 5.6% and 3.26%, respectively.

Meanwhile, 31 stocks registered gains this week, with Ezdan leading the top gainers with 14.08%, while 14 stocks ended the week in losses, with cinema dropping 9.65%.

Traded values went up by 0.48% to QAR 1.44 billion, with volumes growing 25.9% to 61.4 million shares, and the total number of transactions increasing by 13.3% to around 19,900.
