QCB raises interest rate 0.25%

Mubasher: Qatar Central Bank (QCB) on Thursday announced raising interest rate by 25 basis points, or 0.25%, for the second time in 2018.

The bank raised the rate to 2% from 1.75%, according to QCB recent statement.

The step takes into account the evolving domestic and international macroeconomic developments.

It is worth noting that around three central banks also raised interest rate including Saudi Arabia Monetary Authority (SAMA), Central Bank of the UAE, and Central Bank of Bahrain, while Central Bank of Kuwait remained unchanged.
