UAE - Mubasher: Pure Salmon, a land-based salmon aquaculture company, has signed a partnership with the Abu Dhabi Investment Office (ADIO) to establish its headquarters in Abu Dhabi and foster the emirate's agriculture technology (AgTech) ecosystem.
Under the partnership, Pure Salmon will receive financial and non-financial incentives to advance food sustainability through salmon farming technology, according to a press release on Wednesday.
The partnership is part of ADIO’s AED 2 billion Innovation Programme to help innovation-driven companies expand their businesses in Abu Dhabi and contribute to tackling food security challenges.
The company’s headquarters in Abu Dhabi will manage global production facilities in Poland, Japan, the US, and France.
The Director-General of ADIO, Tariq bin Hendi, commented: "The introduction of Pure Salmon’s pioneering technology and knowledge to Abu Dhabi’s ecosystem will enhance the emirate’s aquaculture capabilities and create a hub from which new agriculture solutions can proliferate."
Meanwhile, the Chairman and Founder of 8F Asset Management and Board of Pure Salmon, Stephane Farouze, said: "Setting up Pure Salmon’s global headquarters in Abu Dhabi will enable the growth of a local team that will advance sustainable economic solutions and establish the UAE as an industry leader."
