Oil field services company Petrofac have received a provisional letter of award for a $600 million engineering, procurement and construction (EPC) contract in Algeria, according to company press release.

The deal will see the company work with Algerian state-owned company Sonatrach on EPC1 of the Tinhert Field Development Project.

The EPC1 section of the project will provide a new inlet separation and compression center. Petrofac’s work includes the construction of a pipeline network approximately 400 km in length, connecting 36 wells, as well as the commissioning, start-up, and performance-testing of facilities.

“This award builds on Petrofac’s significant track record in Algeria where we have been working in support of the country’s oil and gas production for more than two decades,” E. S. Sathyanarayanan, engineering and construction managing director, said.

“We have continued to grow our presence in-country through a number of major EPC and engineering services contracts with Sonatrach, including the Alrar and Reggane projects that commenced production this year,” he added.
