Riyadh – Mubasher: Saudi Arabia issued over 5.5 million Umrah visas in the Hijri month of Rajab, compared to 5.28 visas in the same month a year earlier, the Ministry of Hajj and Umrah announced on Wednesday.
The number of arriving Umrah performers rose to 5.1 million in the last Hijri month from 4.84 million in Rajab 1439H, data showed.
Travellers coming via flights accounted for 4.55 million performers, while land travellers reached nearly 489,880 and marine travellers made up 57,580 of the total incoming Umrah performers.
Pakistan led Makkah’s visiting nationalities for Umrah with 1.19 million performers in the last Hijri month, followed by Indonesia with about 795,300 performers.
In addition, India, Egypt, Turkey, Yemen, Malaysia, Algeria, Iraq, and Jordan were among the top countries in terms of the highest number of Umrah pilgrims in Rajab.
