Orange profit plunges to JOD 58.7m


Cairo-Mubasher: Jordan Telecom (Orange) announced its financial results to the Amman Stock Exchange (ASE) for the fiscal year 2014, during which it reported a drop in net profit by 17% to JOD 58.7 million compared to JOD 70.8 million during the fiscal year 2013.


Financials showed a drop in net profit after taxes by 18.5% to JOD 42.12 million during the period, compared to JOD 51.72 million. 


The profit decline was pressured by a decrease in operational revenues by 3.2% to JOD 345 million by the end of 2014, compared to JOD 356.4 million by the end of 2013. 


Worth noting, the company’s capital amounts to JOD 250 million, distributed on JOD 250 million shares at JOD 1 par value.
