Orange Egypt appoints Atef Helmy as senior advisor

Cairo – Mubasher: Orange Group has appointed Atef Helmy to be its senior advisor for the Middle East and Africa (MEA) region, according to a statement released Thursday.

The decision confirms the group’s confidence in Egyptian cadres, particularly as the telecom operator focuses on promoting business development in the MEA region, the company stated.

Orange Group has more than 120 million customers distributed over more than twenty countries in the region.

Helmy held the position as the former minister of communications and information technology and is currently the chairman of Orange Egypt.

Earlier on Thursday, Orange Egypt reported that its consolidated losses soared 2,343.9% to EGP 300.6 million in the first quarter of 2017, compared to EGP 12.3 million in Q1-16.
