Mubasher: The profit of the National Mobile Telecommunications Company(Ooredoo) increased by 55% year-on-year during the third quarter of 2019.
The net profit attributed to the company recorded KWD 6.2 million ($20.5 million) during the three-month period this year, compared to KWD 4 million ($13.2 million) in the corresponding quarter in 2018, according to a press release on Wednesday.
During the period from January to September 2019, Ooredoo’s profit surged by 45% to KWD 23.5 million when compared to KWD 16.2 million in the corresponding period a year earlier.
Revenues tumbled to KWD 470 million during the nine-month period of 2019 when compared to KWD 502 million in the corresponding period a year earlier.
The business’ unified customer base rose to 27 million subscribers, chairman of Ooredoo, Saud Nasser Faleh Nasser Al Thani said.
It is worth noting that during the first half of 2019, Ooredoo achieved profit worth KWD 17.32 million, 41.6% higher than KWD 12.23 million in the corresponding half in 2018.
