Oman’s PPI rise 27% in Q3

Mubasher: The producer price index (PPI) in Oman rose by 26.9% year-on-year in the third quarter of 2018, according to the latest statistics released by the National Centre for Statistics and Information (NCSI). 

The increase in producers’ inflation is mainly driven by a surge in oil and gas pricesas reported by the Oman News Agency (ONA). 

Prices of oil and gas products increased by 32.2% while the prices of non-oil products rose by 5.1% in the third quarter of 2018. 

Among oil and gas group, refined oil products rose 38.9% while the prices of crude oil and natural gas soared by 31.2% in Q3. 

On the other hand, in non-oil sector, prices of the manufacturing group rose by 7.1%while there was a 1.2% fall in the prices of mining, electricity and water group index.
