New app to manage Egypt’s chronic street garbage

Mubasher: Environ-Adapt has created a new application, Dawar, in collaboration with the Egyptian Ministry of Environment and GIZ Egypt to manage massive garbage in the streets of Egypt.

Dawar enables users to report any street garbage to waste management and collection companies to be gathered, according to Scoope Empire.

Users of the new app would take a picture of any garbage in sight and send it through the app along with their location and the authorised companies would clean it and provide users with feedback.

Dawar is still under trial and the service is only available in Maadi and Torra. It has not been officially launched yet.

It is worth noting that Egypt has been suffering for years from the chronically garbage-filled streets.
