Dubai – Mubasher: Network International has revealed that Google Pay service is now available in the UAE through its merchant partner outlets.
The UAE’s largest debit and credit card payments operator said that consumers can use the Android-based payment solution for transactions across the GCC country with any of its Near-field communication (NFC)-equipped merchants, Arabian Business reported.
Google Pay is a fast, simple way to pay on websites, in apps, and in stores using credit or debit cards saved to a Google Account.
The new application uses NFC to transmit card information, thus replacing the need for authentication via chip and pin.
Network International, which acts as both the settlement partner and solution provider for all Google Pay transactions, noted that the new payment platform protects payment information with multiple layers of security and makes it easy to send money, store tickets, or cash in on rewards, the Dubai-based news website noted.
“Digital mobile wallets are increasingly becoming one of the most rapidly growing payment methods across the world, and as a market leader in end-to-end payment solutions, we are delighted to enable acceptance of Google Pay in the UAE,” Paul Clarke, group head of Product and Innovation at Network International, said.
