Nakilat FY17 profits decline; board proposes 10% dividends

Mubasher: The income statements of Qatar Gas Transport (Nakilat) for the fourth quarter of 2017 showed a 16.2% growth in profits when compared to the same period in the prior year.

Earnings increased to QAR 239.83 million ($66 million) in Q4-17 from QAR 206.41 million ($56.8 million) in Q4-16, according to a bourse statement on Monday.

During the fiscal year 2017, Nakilat posted a drop of 11.3% in profits to QAR 846.19 million compared to QAR 954.18 million in FY16.

Earnings per share stood at QAR 1.53 in FY17 when compared to QAR 1.72 in FY16, the statement added.

Nakilat’s board members recommended a cash dividend of 10% or QAR 1 per share; this proposal will be considered in the ordinary general meeting (OGM) on Tuesday, 20 March.
