Dubai – Mubasher: Nakheel has signed a contract with United Engineering Construction (UNEC) for the construction of the AED 6.1 billion Deira Mall, the UAE-based developer announced on Sunday.
UNEC will build the mall under an AED 4.2 billion contract, Nakheel added, noting that the construction works will begin in the first quarter of 2018 and end in 2021.
With a leasable area of 4.5 million square feet (sqft) and a 3.8 million sqft multi-storey car park, Deira Mall will comprise over 1,000 shops, cafes, restaurants, and entertainment outlets, the Emirati developer revealed.
"With its top-flight shopping, dining, and entertainment offering, the mall will provide endless attractions for residents of Deira Islands, the wider UAE community, and the millions of tourists who visit Dubai each year,” Nakheel’s chairman Ali Rashid Lootah commented.
