Abu Dhabi – Mubasher: The Abu Dhabi General Services Company (Musanada) on Sunday revealed that it has completed an AED20.6 million ($5.6 million) construction and maintenance project for Delaija wildlife Management centre in the UAE.

The project, located in the UAE capital, was established on an area of 520,000 square meters, according to the company’s recent statement.

The project was commissioned for the Environment Agency – Abu Dhabi (EAD).

"Managed by EAD, the Delaija Wildlife Management Centre is a unique facility and the first of its kind in the region in terms of its design and size,” Razan Khalifa Al Mubarak, EAD secretary-general, said.

The breeding and conservation centre will be home to more than 6,000 animals, data showed.

“EAD seeks to use this centre to provide facilities for breeding and protecting endangered wild animals by maintaining sustainable groups through breeding and reintroduction programs in their natural habitat," Al Mubarak added.

It is worth noting that the construction of Delaija centre started in 2010.
