Dubai – Sharikat Mubasher: Mastercard announced the launch of the UAE edition of its startup engagement and acceleration program, Mastercard Lighthouse 2026, in partnership with the UAE’s Artificial Intelligence, Digital Economy, and Remote Work Applications Office, as the country continues to strengthen its position as a global hub for AI and digital finance.
As per a recent press release, this initiative is designed to connect high-potential AI and fintech startups with financial institutions, investors, and ecosystem partners through Mastercard’s global network, while providing mentorship and commercialization support from industry experts.
Mastercard Lighthouse UAE 2026 will focus on AI-driven solutions across areas including agentic commerce, personalization, risk management, resilience, and MSME credit provision, alongside emerging fintech applications powered by AI.
Saqr Binghalib, Executive Director at the UAE’s Artificial Intelligence, Digital Economy and Remote Work Applications Office, said the initiative reflects the country’s commitment to advancing AI responsibly while strengthening trust, security, and resilience within the digital economy.
Mark Elliott, Division President for East Arabia at Mastercard, said the program aims to help promising startups scale through stronger ecosystem collaboration and market access opportunities.
