Dubai – Mubasher: Mandarin Oriental, the Hong Kong-based operator, has opened its first hotel in the Middle East, Mandarin Oriental Jumeira, in the emirate of Dubai opposite Dubai’s Mercato Mall.
Mandarin Oriental Jumeira comprises 178 rooms and 78 suites, in addition to a 2,000 square metre spa containing nine treatment rooms and a VIP suite.
“Mandarin has grown up as a city hotel group but it’s increasingly important, as luxury becomes more leisure oriented, for us to become a little bit more relaxed,” James Riley, CEO of Mandarin Oriental, commented.
The design is a mixture of Asian and Middle Eastern heritage, Mandarin Oriental noted.
“Each of our properties has a sense of place and this one does – being in the heart of one of the world’s great cities, and it’s beautifully appointed,” Riley added.
