Maaden completes set up of ammonia plant, starts trial operations

Riyadh - Mubasher: Saudi Arabian Mining Company (Maaden) said it completed the construction at the ammonia plant of its subsidiary Maaden Waad Al Shamal Phosphate Company (MWSPC).

Maaden also said it commenced the trial operations, where the plant will gradually be ramped-up and the production will be variable.

The ammonia plant will have an annual production capacity of 1.1 million tons.

The financial impact of operating the new plant would recognized following the declaration of commercial production.

Saudi Arabian Mining Company (Maaden), Mosaic Company and Saudi Basic Industries Corporation (SABIC) own 60%, 25% and 15%, respectively, of the joint venture developing the Waad Al Shamal Phosphate project.
