Dubai – Mubasher: MaK Middle East, a Caterpillar company established in Dubai in 2017, has recently boosted its presence in the UAE market by launching a new branch in Fujairah in a bid to serve a wider range of customers.
The company currently has an official registration in the Sharjah Ports of Hamriyah Freezone, Al Khalid and Khor Fakkan, enabling service delivery in those facilities, according to an official statement on Monday.
“MaK Middle East has continued to increase the resident service engineer team in the UAE with transfers of Caterpillar employees from UK and Singapore operations into the UAE hub,” the statement said.
Having access to Fujairah Port in the UAE is already proving its value, not only to local MaK powered vessel owners but also to European cargo customers transiting through the region and using the Fujairah anchorage.
The newly expanded EMD service team in Dubai will serve the Middle East region, including Dubai, Bahrain, and Saudi Arabia in addition to the Sharjah ports which will expand the service delivery reach of this relocated service team.
“Similar to the MaK Asia factory owned workshops in Singapore, Shanghai and Guangzhou, MaK Middle East is also able to provide turbocharger services on board a vessel including basic inspection and removal and installation for workshop overhaul or cartridge replacement,” the statement added.
Managing director of MaK Middle East and MaK Asia Alan Naisby said that “the expansion of the MaK and EMD portfolio of products and services in the Middle East region and the UAE in particular corresponds to our steadfast commitment at Caterpillar to be a one-stop parts and service provider for marine, oil & gas and powerplant customers.”
Naisby added that “MaK Middle East is a Caterpillar company and the only factory authorised distribution operation for MaK, CM, and EMD brands in the ten Middle Eastern countries of the UAE, Saudi Arabia, Yemen, Oman, Bahrain, Qatar, Kuwait, Syria, Jordan, and Lebanon.”
