Mubasher: The Muscat Securities Market closed Wednesday’s session on a negative note as its benchmark MSM 30 index fell by 0.13% or 6.85 points to the level of 5,470.86 points.
Trading volume decreased to 7.63 million shares from 8.21 million shares exchanged on Tuesday, turnover also declined to OMR 1.6 million from OMR 2.32 million.
The financial sector dropped 0.19% due to a 1.75% decrease in Al Sharqiya Investment and a 1.21% fall in Al Anwar Holdings.
HSBC Oman was the largest-traded stock with a volume of 1.43 millions shares exchanged at OMR 161,780.
The services sector slid 0.07% as Omantel shrank 1.34%; the stock made the highest liquidity of OMR 275,940. Ooredoo Oman also fell 0.63%.
On the flipside, the industrial sector leapt 0.42% as Al Jazeera Steel Products led the green list by adding 2.23%, while Construction Material Industry topped losers after dropping by 3.33%.
