Local buying pushes EGX up early Tuesday

Cairo – Mubasher: The Egyptian Exchange (EGX) opened Tuesday’s trading session in green territory on the back of local buying.

By 10:22 am Cairo time, the benchmark EGX30 index edged up 40.19 points, or 0.23%, to 17,660.44 points.

The EGX70 index added 0.16% to 869.04 points, and the EGX100 index levelled up 0.14% to 2,264.67 points.

The equal-weighted EGX50 index added 0.46% to 3,015.39 points.

Trading volume on stocks amounted to around 31.4 million shares exchanged at a turnover of EGP 118.34 million through 2,820 transactions.

Egyptian investors were net buyers with EGP 5.8 million, while foreign and Arab investors were net sellers with EGP 39,750 and EGP 5.77 million, respectively.

The heavyweight Commercial International Bank (CIB) went up 0.13% to EGP 87.03, with a turnover of EGP 1.6 million.
