Lafarge Egypt pumps EGP200mln to use wastes as an alternative energy source

Lafarge Egypt, a member of LafargeHolcim Group, has pumped 200 million Egyptian pounds to carryout projects that expand in the usage of household wastes as an alternative energy source, its CEO  Hussein Mansi said.

He pointed that the size of alternative energies of household waste has reached to 1,000 tons per day with total capacities of 300 thousand tons per year, saving the company about 200 thousand tons of coal annually.

Mansi  added that the company is negotiating with a number of investors to implement  projects necessary to produce solar power  for its plant in  Ain Sokhna during July 2019, in conjunction with the state direction towards the liberalization of the energy price by the end of the current fiscal year.
