Kuwaiti KUFPEC signs Petroleum Concession Agreement in Pakistan

Mubasher: Kuwait Foreign Petroleum Exploration Company (KUFPEC) on Wednesday announced that its subsidiary, Kirthar Pakistan B.V. signed a Petroleum Exploration License and Petroleum Concession Agreement for Block No. 3371-19 (Makhad) in Pakistan.

Covering an area of 1,560 square kilometres, the Makhad Block is located in the Attock, Chakwal, and Mianwali Districts of the Punjab Province and in the Kohat District of the Khyber Pakhtunkhwa Province, KUFPEC said in a statement.

“KUFPEC is proud of its strong strategic partnership with the Islamic Republic of Pakistan, which is reflected by our successful investments exceeding $1 billion in Pakistan since 1987,” KUFPEC’s CEO Shaikh Nawaf Saud Nasir Al-Sabah commented.

KPBV will work closely with Pakistani national oil companies and the provincial holding company of Punjab in relation to its operations in the Makhad Block, KUFPEC added in a statement.
