Kuwait starts building 111 km railway

Mubasher: The execution of the railway project that connects Kuwait to the rest of the GCC has started.

Works on the 111 square-kilometre Kuwaiti part of the major railway project have begun, informed sources told Al-Anba newspaper.

Kuwait is willing to complete the project on the date specified under the GCC's general secretariat plan, the sources added.

According to the plan, Saudi Arabia, the UAE, and Qatar will operate the new railway in 2021, while Kuwait, Bahrain, and Oman will operate it in 2023.
