Kuwait's trade surplus with Japan plunges 30% in June

Mubasher: Kuwait's trade surplus with Japan declined 29.8% year-on-year to $313 million in June, according to Kuwait News Agency (KUNA).

Kuwaiti exports to Japan went down 26.6% year-on-year to $425 million, while the GCC country’s imports from Japan also sank 9.6% $112 million.

Middle East's trade surplus with Japan declined 1.5% to $4.4 billion last month, as Japanese exports from the region falling 6% from the year-ago period.

“Crude oil, refined products, liquefied natural gas (LNG) and other natural resources, which accounted for 95.6% of the region's total exports to Japan, went down 5.5%. The region's overall imports from Japan slid 16.4%, chiefly due to weak demand for automobiles, machinery, and electric equipment,” KUNA reported.
