Kuwait’s holdings of US treasuries shrink 6.6% in November

Mubasher: A decline of 6.6% was registered for Kuwait’s holdings of the US treasury securities during November 2017 compared to October 2017.

Kuwait’s holdings of the US government securities, including bills, notes, and bonds, decreased to $36.8 billion in November 2017 from $39.4 billion in the previous month, according to a recent report by the Treasury International Capital (TIC) System in the US.

This amount was divided as $32.51 billion long-term treasury securities and $4.28 billion short-term treasuries, the US Treasury Department added in its report.

On an annual basis, Kuwait’s holdings of the US treasuries increased by 25.2% when compared to $29.4 billion in November 2016.
