Kuwait renews gas oil supply contract with Lebanon

Kuwait Petroleum Corporation (KPC) has renewed its contract with Lebanon’s ministry of energy for a year to provide Lebanon state electricity company with gas oil, said a Kuwaiti official.

The contract would be in line with the global prices, Sheikh Khaled Ahmad Al-Sabah, deputy CEO of KPC for marketing crude oil and oil products, told KUNA.

He said that he discussed, during a meeting, ongoing cooperation between the two institutions with Lebanon’s energy minister Cesar Abi Khalil. Sheikh Khaled stressed the strategic importance of relations between the two sides, as Kuwait is the main supplier of gas oil to Lebanon. KPC began supplying gas oil to Lebanon in 2005 after inking a memorandum of understanding by the two governments
