Kuwait makes plans to allow expat teachers return home

Arabian Business: Expatriate teachers in Kuwait are being allowed to leave the country amid the current coronavirus pandemic.

Minister of Education and Minister of Higher Education, Saud Al-Harbi has issued orders for exit permits to be produced so teachers can return to their home countries.

Al-Harbi said it was in response and understanding of the “psychological and social conditions of foreign teachers during such circumstance and the pandemic of coronavirus”.

The ministry is still to determine how the exit permits will be delivered, although this will be announced at a later date.

It was announced last week that administrative and educational staff at secondary level will resume work on August 4.

On Sunday, Kuwait confirmed a further 12 cases of coronavirus, taking the total number in the country to 188.
